Dates to Remember

As the Aurora Summit continues to grow in size and popularity, we keep a rhythm to event planning so you can always know when and where to find us. Below are some key dates to remember each year.

• Applications due March 15th — Are you interested in becoming a Presenter? Please submit an entry form by March 15th. We welcome entry forms during any time of year, but the application window for the upcoming Aurora Summit in the fall closes during the preceding spring, on March 15th.
  
• Registration opens no earlier than June 1st — Registration opens every year in June, no earlier than June 1st and no later than June 30th. A Limited Edition Early Bird Rate to save 20% on Full Admission is available to the first guests to register.
  
• Aurora Summit occurs the first weekend of November — We strive to hold the Aurora Summit on the first weekend of November each year. While there will be exceptions, this is a prime weekend for Aurora Chasing. The dates occur during peak Aurora season before heavy winter weather coats the roads in ice and snow, in between the major holidays, and after many popular family vacation times.

Aurora Summit Alumni & Friends

Fostering connections across our talented community, the Aurora Summit Facebook Group encourages alumni, friends and anyone who is interested in the Aurora Summit to stay connected throughout the year.

Make the most out of free tutorials, behind-the-scenes interviews, related events and other opportunities to connect with Aurora Chasers. Then be the first to hear about special offers and new programming for the annual Aurora Summit, as we gear up to launch registration each June.

Bringing Aurora Chasers Together Since 2017

Since its inaugural year in 2017, the Aurora Summit has been held in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. The convention began as the annual gathering for the Great Lakes Aurora Hunters in 2013, and it has since evolved into a public convention that is open to everyone!

Connect with the Organizers

Founders Dixie J. Burbank and Melissa F. Kaelin have partnered to make annual gatherings possible for Aurora Chasers for more than 12 years, diving in long before the Aurora Summit was created. If you have not met the Founders, you will find that they also devote a lot of time and energy to pursuits in the Aurora community, from leading international tours and teaching photography techniques to publishing guides and hosting workshops.
